So, I finally did it—my first solo trip to Bali , it was a mix of magic, confusion, and just plain adventures. If you’re like me and always dreamed of traveling but kept delaying, this is for you. Let me take you through my adventure, with all the ups, downs, and awkward moments.
In this article, I’ll take you through my experiences of both the ups and downs filled with the unexpected surprises while sharing tips for anyone planning their own solo Bali trip. Whether you’re a regular traveler or travelling your first solo trip, I hope my story helps you to take the leap!
Why Solo Trip To Bali?

Honestly? I picked Bali because it looked like paradise on Instagram (and it kinda is). But also, it felt safe for a first-time solo traveler. Beaches, jungles, and a culture that’s super welcoming—what’s not to love?
The Good: Sunsets That Hit Different

Okay, let’s start with the good stuff because Bali’s sunsets? Unreal. My first night, I was at Uluwatu Beach, sitting with a coconut in hand, watching the sky turn pink, orange, and purple. I literally got tears thinking like, how is this real life?
Another highlight was the Tegallalang Rice Terraces in Ubud. Think about endless green fields built like stairs, with farmers waving as you walk by. Felt like I was in a movie.
The Bad: Scooter Drama

Now, the ordinary part. You really think renting a scooter is a great idea, cheap and easy, right? Wrong.
Day 1: I negotiated at a busy intersection and almost tipped over.
Day 2: Got lost in Seminyak and ended up in a random village.
Day 3: Finally got the hang of it, only to realize I’d been driving with the brake on the whole time.
Lesson learned? If you’re a newbie, maybe stick to Grab (like Uber) until you’re ready.
The Ugly: Monkey Mayhem

Well, this one is so embarrassing but really funny. I went to Sacred Monkey Forest in Ubud, where monkeys roam freely. I knew they were bold and fearless, but I didn’t expect one to steal my water bottle right out of my hand.
After that another monkey decided my hair looked like a jungle gym and started pulling it. I left looking like I’d been through a tornado. Pro tip: leave your shiny stuff at home and keep your distance.
What I Learned from bali trip
1. Pack Less: I brought so many. You don’t need 5 shoes for a week, I promise.
2.Go With the Flow: Getting lost helped me to some cool hidden spots.
3. Talk to Locals: They’re the nicest people and have the best stories.
4. Slow Down I tried to do too much and wasted way too much. Next time, I’ll take it easy.

Final Thoughts
Bali was everything I hoped for and more. I think I want to embrace the messiness of travel and just go for it. If you’re thinking about your first solo trip, just do it. You’ll figure it out as you go, and that’s half the fun.
